MARCH 2026 | ISSUE 2 | VOLUME 1
Three trees in seasonal transition: spring blossoms, autumn leaves, and winter snow, reflected in a serene river at sunset.

WHAT'S GOOD?

Hey Gurl Hey! What’s good?

This. This right here — Issue 2 of our e-newsletter: “The Goods.”

We are so excited to have this space. This platform. This community. A place where we — [Jimmy and Micah] — can speak honestly, creatively, and intentionally. Without filters. Without rush. Without noise. March feels different. Not just because it’s a new month. But because it marks a pivotal moment of change for us in a personal way.

After more than 20 years in Hospitality — a world that shaped us, stretched us, taught us resilience, service, and leadership — we have made the active decision to step

away. For good.

Twenty-plus years is no small chapter. It was a calling for a season. And we gave it everything we had.

But when we finally made the decision to transition out of that realm, something unexpected happened.

Spring blossoms, autumn leaves, and winter snow depict seasonal forest paths at sunrise, creating serene, colorful landscapes.

We both felt relief. An immense weight lifted — from our shoulders and from our souls. That’s when we knew.

When peace shows up before fear does, you listen. This choice is about health. About alignment. About building something that feels fully ours. We will always look back fondly on those years. We know we were there for a reason. We know we did it well. We know it mattered. And now we know it’s time for that season to close.

Whether you’re part of our day-to-day world, a fellow creative, a porch enthusiast, a ribbon collector, one of our amazing customers, clients or simply a casual reader who comes here for inspiration — we are so glad you’re here! We don’t take it lightly that you’re walking this new chapter with us.

This is new territory for Jimmy. New territory for Micah. And honestly, it feels right.

Speaking of new… Let’s step into one of our new sections called: “The REAL Goods”.

This is where we begin to unravel the true purpose behind this platform — the intention, the direction, and how we’re thoughtfully laying the foundation for every issue moving forward.

💫 THE REAL GOODS:

The Color Trends of 2026 and how WE are Translating Them...

If March is about transition, then consider this your creative pivot moment.

Because the color story for 2026? It’s shifting.

We’re seeing intentional palettes emerge — softer neutrals paired with grounded depth, bold accents layered with restraint. It’s less chaotic, more curated.

(And you already know — we don’t chase trends. We interpret them.)

This season is bringing:

  • Frosted blues with quiet confidence

  • Earth-driven greens that feel rooted

  • Rich plums with editorial edge

  • Warm terracotta and cinnamon that add depth without heaviness

And the best part? We’ve already been curating with this shift in mind.

The ribbons.  The textures.  The layers.  The combinations that feel elevated without trying too hard.

We don’t just stock product.  We carry elements intentionally — pieces that allow you to build something that feels designed, not decorated.

Let’s talk color. Let’s talk texture. Let’s talk what this means for your next creative moment…

Three vertical ribbons: light blue solid, blue textured, and blue floral on aqua. They spiral upward against a white background.

❄️ Icy Blue & Blue Aura

A frosted, airy blue that acts like a modern neutral.

Clean. Quiet. Elevated Hues.

Can be paired with mushroom taupe, soft cream, or silver for a look that feels serene but intentional.

🌿 Earthy Jade, Olive & Textural Greens

Grounded greens are taking center stage. Mossy. Sage. Eucalyptus.

Layer with terracotta, khaki, or warm gold to create depth without heaviness.

Three images of ribbons: a glittery teal roll, an olive satin ribbon on wood, and a turquoise and gold textured ribbon.
Three ribbons: a copper glitter with gold underside, burnt orange velvet on wood, and rich burgundy velvet with spool. Elegant display.

🍂 Cinnamon, Terracotta & Rich Burgundy

The anchor palette of 2026.

Warm clay. Sun-baked earth. Deep wine.

These tones add instant richness and sophistication — especially when balanced with soft neutrals.

🍷 Plum Noir

Deep, velvety purple with brown undertones.

Moody but refined. Pair with cream, bronze, or muted teal for a luxurious finish.

Three images of purple ribbons: velvet, glitter with gold diamond pattern, and plain. Each on a spool, displayed on a white background.

💚 Wasabi & Jelly Mint

Energy — but curated.

Chartreuse and mint are showing up as accent tones.Used sparingly, they add freshness and modern edge.

Three images of decorative ribbons on wooden stools: green velvet, light blue, and green glitter. Rustic background with greenery.

🌾 Mushroom Neutrals & Khaki

Quiet luxury at its finest.

Taupe, oat, sand, creamy white — these are no longer background fillers.

They’re the foundation.

Three ribbons: Left, beige with white geometric pattern; center, pink with "D. Lux" label; right, white with gold weave pattern.

The Takeaway

2026 isn’t about loud color.  It’s about intentional layering.

About creating a mood and feeling…. Using COLOR combinations and intentional designs.

Warm earth tones balanced with cool clarity.

Bold accents grounded by timeless neutrals.

And the best part? Every one of these palettes can be built using ribbon and other elements we intentionally curate and carry — so you can design ahead of the curve, not behind it.

Around here, we don’t just follow trends. We translate them. We make sense of them 💛✨

P.S. Watch our upcoming lives — we’ll be building with most of these palettes in real time.

✨ Beyond The Goods

What we’re building isn’t limited to what we sell.

The digital landscape is shifting.

If you’ve been in the creative space for any amount of time, you’ve likely felt it. TikTok has been an incredible tool for connection, live selling, and visibility. It introduced us to so many of you, and for that — we are truly grateful.

But recently, with algorithm changes and tightening reach, building momentum there has become increasingly challenging. Growth that once felt organic now requires significantly more effort for less visibility and comes with a lot of limitations. And when that happens, creatives pay attention.

We’re seeing many makers, designers, and live sellers begin transitioning toward E.P.I.C Studios — a platform that mirrors short-form video and live selling in a familiar way, but currently offers something incredibly valuable: Opportunity.

EPIC STUDIOS Circle logo with purple and blue elements on a gold background, featuring a central white play button. Vibrant and dynamic design.

E.P.I.C Studios is still developing. It’s still shaping itself. But because of that, discovery feels more organic. Early adoption means traction can build faster. Community feels less saturated.

In many ways, it feels like starting over.

New followers.

New rhythms.

New momentum to build.

But there’s power in building early. In shaping a space instead of fighting for scraps of visibility.

We’re leaning in. We’re building intentionally. And we are absolutely here for watching how

E.P.I.C Studios grows for our creative community.

You can find us there — just like everywhere else — @whittickscg.

Click on the logo above - to find out more or to download EPIC Studios app today!

And then there is the app called Whatnot.

Three "whatnot" logos with a stylized "w" icon, each on different backgrounds: cream, black, and yellow. Bold text varies in color.

Whatnot is a live-selling platform built around auctions and curated supply drops.

Sellers host structured live events where buyers can bid, purchase instantly, and interact in real time.

For those of us on the supply side — ribbon, attachments, curated materials — it’s incredibly effective. It allows for organic discovery by shoppers who may never have encountered us elsewhere. The platform itself helps surface sellers to buyers who are already in a purchasing mindset.

That said, it serves a different purpose.

You likely won’t see fully styled, finished editorial builds showcased there the way you might on a traditional social platform. It’s less about presentation and more about product movement. It’s supply-forward. And that’s perfectly fine. Because every platform has a role.

You can find us on Whatnot as well —again, under @whittickscg.

We don’t believe in relying on one digital home.

We believe in diversification. In strategic presence. In meeting our community wherever they gather.

And we want this to be collaborative.

We invite you to comment on this issue of The Goods and share your E.P.I.C Studios handle and your Whatnot username. Let’s find one another. Let’s follow. Let’s support. Let’s grow together as this next wave of platforms unfolds. Because community doesn’t live inside one app. It lives in the people. And we’re building WITH you.

🎨 Now That’s Good!

The Colour Cube by Sarah Renae Clark

If you were at our Summer Camp last year, you already know — we are huge fans of this system. And when we say system, we mean it.

The Colour Cube by Sarah Renae Clark is not just a stack of pretty color cards. It is one of the most practical, confidence-building tools we use — daily. Especially on the days when inspiration feels thin. Especially when we are staring at rolls of ribbon wondering why something isn’t clicking, and most especially when we need a creative reset.

We have, more than once, pulled one or two cards at random from the different volumes just to challenge ourselves — to see what we can create within that palette.

Each volume is packed with thoughtfully curated color combinations, and the more you explore them, the more you realize how expansive the possibilities truly are.

Sometimes all it takes is one unexpected pairing to unlock something bold — to move forward when you feel stuck, or to take a brave step with a combination you might not have chosen on your own.

That’s what makes this system so powerful.

It doesn’t just give you inspiration. It gives you vision.

And when you have vision, momentum follows.

For those unfamiliar, the Colour Cube system now includes four volumes, each thoughtfully created with categories and collections designed to inspire across seasons, moods, and aesthetics.

We own all four volumes. And we are always watching for new releases.

The Second Edition alone includes:

• 585 brand-new palettes

• 415 favorites from the original edition

• Hand-selected color combinations pulled from real photography (no AI art)

• Beautifully categorized collections — from Enchanting Landscapes and Interior Design to Retro Flair, Wedding Bliss, and even Cyberpunk

Each card is matte-finish, beautifully printed, and incredibly easy to use right at your workspace.

But what truly sets it apart is this: It trains your eye.

Over time, you begin to understand:

• Why muted sage balances dusty blush

• Why a bold accent needs space to breathe

• How warm and cool undertones either harmonize or clash

• How to build dominant, secondary, and accent colors intentionally

It removes decision fatigue. It builds confidence. It accelerates your design process.

And if you want to go even deeper, Sarah has completely reimagined the digital experience as well. The upcoming interactive Colour Companion platform allows you to browse palettes by keyword or color, match art supplies across brands, save your personal stash, create custom swatch charts, and even access exclusive palette drops.

A collage of colorful color cube cards with landscape photos. Text includes paint names like "Blue Grey" and "Persian Green."

It’s thoughtful. It’s layered. It’s evolving. On her site, you can purchase individual volumes, bundle options, or all four cubes together — and from our perspective, if color plays any role in your creative process, it is one of the smartest investments you can make.

We don’t recommend tools lightly.

But this one?

Now that’s good.

🤍 THE LAST WORD

(special edition) 💚 For My Mom — Born March 17, 1949

by Jimmy Whitley

A woman with short hair and glasses outdoors by water, smiling. Indoors, she's waving, wearing a tie-dye shirt. Text: family, love.

March 17th has always meant something different to me. It's my Mom's Birthday!

This year It will be VERY different because this year marks my mom’s first heavenly birthday.

Two photos: Top, three people smiling, NYC skyline in background. Bottom, woman kisses man's cheek in a black-and-white café setting.

And if I’m being honest — it’s a hard one.

Her passing last July is still so fresh.

Grief doesn’t soften just because the calendar moves forward.

It lingers in the quiet moments… in the memories, in light, in color.

But what I keep coming back to is this:

  • She is the reason I see the world the way I do.

  • She is the reason I notice color before clutter. Texture before trend. Feeling before function.

  • Everything creative in me began with her.

She taught me how to arrange a space so it felt like home. How to make something simple feel intentional. How to choose beauty — even when life wasn’t easy. How to be my true self! And I am so fortunate and lucky that she chose me. She chose to adopt me, and chose to be my Mom.

She chose to love me and guide me through this thing called life.

And I had the absolute honor of being her son.

In her final years, we had the privilege of caring for her and walking alongside her journey with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. It was devastating. It was exhausting. It was heartbreaking.

But it was also — poetically beautiful. To love someone through forgetting. To become their memory when theirs fades. To sit quietly and hold hands without needing words.  To reassure them that they are safe, they are loved and that they matter – was truly important.

It was the most challenging season of our lives —and also one of the most sacred.

She was one of a kind.  An absolute gem of a human being, and literally my biggest fan.  She allowed me to be myself and showed me how easy it is to love. This St. Patrick’s Day, while the world celebrates in green, I’ll be celebrating her.  I’ll be celebrating the memories I carry, the beauty that she helped me create and see, and how easy it is to love one another.

If you’re lucky enough to still have your mom — or someone who has been that steady, guiding, creative force in your life — love on them extra hard this month. Call them.  Sit with them.  Thank them.

Woman with glasses and child smiling indoors against wooden backdrop. Child wears a red shirt and headband, conveying a warm, joyful mood.

Because the influence of a mother never disappears. It lives on in how we create. How we show up. How we love and how we see the world.  Everything I create and do — every wreath, every single idea in my crazy mind, every design decision — carries a piece of my beautiful Mom’s influence and essence in it.  For that, I am Thankful.

To My mom:

Shirley Mae Klipfel, March 17, 1949 to July 31, 2025

"You are So Loved and Cherished...Thank you."

Love Always. 💚 Jimmy
